Review - "I stayed in two rooms on this trip as I decided to extend my stay. Banff is a pretty expensive place to stay, so the rate here was very good in the scheme of things. The location is perfect, just five minutes walk to the Greyhound and train station, and as you step out of the hotel itself you are literally on the main street. Despite being so central, it's not that loud. Only bad ting was my second room the window wouldn't open and it was next to the roof of the next building, with some pretty loud machinery right by. Other than that though is was great, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful."

Review - "I've been going to Saskatoon for years and have always wondered about the Park Town. It's one of the three or four hotels right on the river, downtown. The other three have jacked up rates over the last year, keeping service and property maintenance unchanged and at mediocre levels.
The Park Town is nothing especially fancy, but for less than $120, we got a large, river-front king, with mini fridge, comfortable lounge chair and a very high degree of cleanliness (unlike, say, a recent stay at the Sheraton). Check-in was far faster than the chain hotels. Plus you get employees and owners who seem to actually care about their guests.
Tried the restaurant only for breakfast. Properly staffed, and quite attentive.
Parking on a weekend wasn't an issue, even with a fully booked hotel.
After crossing the Bessborough (shabby hotel, that the Delta chain's misguided self-importance doesn't help), Radisson (also run down, afflicted with the water-slide crowd), and Sheraton (bad service, worse rooms), off the list, Saskatoon needs a winner. The Park Town seems to be it."

Review - "Dawson City [Klondike Gold Rush] is a city that looks much like it did in the early twentieth century with dirt streets, wood boardwalk type sidewalks and old frame buildings. Bombay Peggys is a beautifully restored "working women's house" in the original Victorian style. Furnishings are unusual and beautiful. The owners are very friendly and service is excellent. A continental breakfast is delivered to your room. It is an easy walk to anywhere in town where the locals are all pleasant and very gacious to visitors. Review - "We spent 16 days traveling all over Alaska and this was hands-down our favorite place. I have never, ever seen such clean, inviting cabins! I am such a clean freak that I bring our own sheets no matter how expensive the hotel, but in this place I was completely comfortable. When we arrived the cabin was pre-heated and the lights on for us. The shower was sparkling clean with nice fluffy towels and a heat lamp. We stayed in the Bush Pilot room, and it was decorated well without being cutesy. The bed was very comfortable and there was a cool guest log and it looks like In the morning the owner made us Belgian waffles, coffee, juice, eggs and homemade berry jams (included in the room price). We could take a tray back to our room but we chose to sit in the breakfeast nook with her while she told us great stories of homesteading and raising sled dogs. The rest of staff too was crazy helpful, and the grounds were really interesting with exhibits everywhere. The gift shop was full of a diverse collection and seriously reasonable prices and we got a lot of our gift shopping done there. We saw some of the best prices for local arts there. We bought a sled dog harness and got advice on how to begin running dogs (the owners ran and finished the first Iditarod). It was truly a highlight of a really extensive, wonderful exploration of Alaska! We will for sure go back the next trip."

The reason I am familiar with places to stay in Valdez is because it is one of two closest supply areas for me during the summer season which I spend in the Wrangell Mountains. In case you doubt my creditability, at least as far as connections with this enterprise go, I know nothing about the owners other than to have met the old boy who owns the joint on a number of my visits."

Review - “I stayed 2 nights here in July while touring Denali. The hotel is just off the main highway and has a restaurant, Rosie's Cafe, located right beside it. We ate at Rosie's the first night there. It was pretty good; just don't expect a 5 star steak house. The room was clean and all furniture appeared to be fairly new. They had a machine for free hot chocolate and had a room upstairs with books about Alaska to look at. We bought the $10 lunch to take on the Denali tour. It's definitely a better bargain than the lunches they sell at the visitor center. The lunch included a large muffin, sandwich, apple, orange, cookies, water, and coke. When we returned to our room, we found snack bags filled with more cookies and fruit. The hotel also offers a free breakfast with really good home made pastries. I had these large cinnamon buns that were so good. While the hotel was 10 miles from Denali, I think it was a good deal. It's much cheaper than the Deanli hotels and gas in Healy was cheaper also. The second night we ate at Lynx Creek pizza in Denali. While not the best pizza I've had, it was good and good choice for dinner.”

Review - “We stayed at A Touch of Wilderness for one night in July, 2009. Actually, our trip plans changed unexpectedly, so we ended up back in the Denali area for an extra night. We had previously stayed at the Denali Lakeview Inn in Healy earlier in our trip, but we decided to try somewhere different for this extra night. We were able to get a room at the Touch of Wilderness. We were in room #8, which is upstairs and adjoins the breakfast room and the family room. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. There are very good mountain views, especially from the huge windows in the breakfast room. The breakfast was VERY good – cereals, waffles, fruits, quiche, muffins, etc. Lots of choices, all of it good. The inn is located just a few miles above Healy, which itself is about 10 miles north of the park entrance. Yes, it is a little off the beaten path, but by no means would I consider that a down side. The reality is you pretty much leave the inn once per day and come back once per day – you are not in and out all day so the distance no longer becomes a factor. Besides, everything in Alaska is miles apart anyway! It is just a short drive to the Black Diamond restaurant (very good), Rosie’s Diner (also good, typical diner type food). We spent a long time chatting with the owner, Barbara, and some other guests in the morning. Barbara is a wonderful person and is doing a great job with the inn. All of the other guests seemed to be enjoying themselves, as we were. This would be my number one choice if I were to return to the Denali area.”

Review - "This hotel is a very economical option in Rochester and is connected to the Mayo clinic by the underground walkway which is very convenient if you are going there. The room was very clean, especially the bathroom which is a stckler for me. There is also a small, empty refrigerator in the room which was left open and left a slight smell in the room. An ironing board and iron is not available in the room and there is no option for movies. Of course no room service but lots of restaurants close by. There is an interesting notice left on the bathroom sink that asks the guest to use the supplied "rag" for removing make-up or cleaning up dirty things rather than using the good linens (which are OK but postage stamp size.) Would recommend with caveats."

Review - "I am a Choice, Hilton and Holiday Inn Gold Traveler and these are my lodging preferences. I was booked here (by a client) for a conference and thus had no choice. The conference room was large and very suitable.
The hotel is old but the location is good. The rooms have been remodeled and the mattresses/bedspreads appear to be new. The shower is modern with a curved rod and updated shower head. They offer FREE breakfast (full) and 20% off on meals in the restaurant...which was fine. The TV was new and clear.
I did not feel unsafe or worried during my stay as a single woman. They do not have a working key card entrance in the back door but this town is not too large, so it did not bother me....if it were the city then perhaps I would be concerned!
I would not choose this location over the Holiday Inn Express (down the street) but it was comfortable, clean and quiet. The pool was clean and seemed to be a draw for families. I try to stay in the chains where I have attained status (for reward points) but this location was fine for those who are just looking for an overnight or two."
